Susan is a multimedia producer and writer born and raised in Los Angeles, Calif. After graduating high school, she spent four months in Istanbul, Turkey and worked as an apprentice for Nero Bianco, an event planning agency based out of the trendy section of Taksim. After her return back to the States, she fell right back into writing and joined the staff of the El Vaquero and later took on the role of sports editor. Now, Susan writes in any which way she can including underwriting spots, newspapers, magazines, broadcast news reports or thoughtful essays.
Her love for media grew while attending Humboldt State University, located in the secluded red wood coast of northern California. The move to the foggy and wet north was the most drastic and enlightening moments in Susan’s path to growing as a multimedia artist. She attended Humboldt State University where she earned her B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication and earned the Pete “Wilson” Herschel Broadcast News award. Her emphasis was in broadcast media which quickly became a lifestyle. While attending Humboldt she had interned on The Conan O’Brien Show and PBS Homework Hotline. Since earning her B.A., Susan worked as a master control operator for Sainte Television Group in Eureka, Calif. and controlled programs for FOX, Univision, The CW and CBS. She currently writes for KPFK Pacifica Radio for Uprising with Sonali Kolhatkar.
Journalism pertains to a wide scope of mediums and those mediums are all necessary to be able to bring news and visuals to the greatest amount of people. Communicating with society is a skill.
